The Little Things

I could have posted about my spring break in Paris and Ireland with Sara, but somehow the trip just didn't seem as monumental as it probably should have. I had my first glass of wine, learned how to get around using public transportation (or there lack thereof in Ireland), and enjoyed spending time with a great friend when she wasn't PMSing and about to crack under the weight of traveling in Europe for three months prior to my arrival.

I could have posted about how I am really bad at making myself practice and rehearse for my voice recital and am kind of scared that I will get up in front of the entire music department and not know my song, but that didn't seem quite worthy of entire blog post either.

However, when I woke up this morning to the Vega4 song "Life is Beautiful," I just knew that I wanted to write about how I think I am slowly falling for Alex. I know, I am already in a relationship with him, shouldn't I have fallen for him already? -But not really, I guess. I mean, wouldn't it be kind of pointless to date for a period of time if no one started to date until they were 98% sure they wanted to marry the person? It they were that sure of marriage, I think it's more typically called courtship.

Well, anyway, Alex says he has fallen hardest for me the times when I have gotten upset with him (examples he gave me: when I got mad at him for not going to church with me in the evening and I stormed out of the caf only to have him chase after me and burst into tears; the time when I made a stupid comment to ben and marriage and alex faked being mad but I couldn't tell it was fake and got really upset.) However, instead of big moments like that (big in my memory), it has been the little ones that get me. Like this weekend, when we talked about what we wanted in a house (how we wanted the kitchen or the bathroom designed, one or two stories, etc). Or cute, small, romantic things like on Saturday, when we went out to dinner and it was cold outside so he went and got the car and picked me up at the door or last night when it was muddy and a whole group of us were walking down from watching the sunset and the stars at the baseball field and he carried me so that I would not step/fall in the mud.
